At CSA, diversity, equity, and inclusion are not programs — they are an expression of what we believe. We hold that every person is a full expression of the divine, and that commitment has to show up in how we act, what we study, and who we welcome.
Our DEI ministry, known as the Ujima Ministry, works actively toward racial healing, social justice, and equity — in our congregation and in the wider Sacramento community.
Land Acknowledgment We acknowledge that the land where we gather is the traditional, ancestral, and unceded territory of the Nisenan, Maidu, Miwok, and Patwin peoples. These Indigenous communities have lived in relationship with this land for thousands of years, and we honor their profound connection and stewardship.
Labor Acknowledgment We recognize the many layers of history that have contributed to the building of this country, including the labor of enslaved Africans, immigrants, and Indigenous peoples. We honor the voluntary and involuntary contributions of those whose labor has been integral to the development of our society. We commit to learning from this history and working toward equity, justice, and reconciliation.
