Donner Memorial State Park

Donner Memorial State Park is located adjacent to Donner Lake in Truckee. During winter, visitors can snowshoe on trails and play in the snow in this historic site. There are several flat, well-marked snowshoe trails to choose from. IF YOU CAN HIKE YOU CAN SHOWSHOE!
Bring your own or rent snowshoe gear. Recommend warm socks, layers, sun protection, and water. Gear can be rented (see below) or if you just need boots, Big 5 has some for $25.
REI in Folsom only: Snowshoe rental $24
Clarks Snow Sports: Snowshoe and pole rental $20.
Snow Mountain Rentals in Auburn: Snowshoes/boots/apparel. Call (530) 885-1844 for info.
Rental Tip: Try snowshoes on before you leave the store to ensure you have a right/left pair.
*Carpools will leave from CSA at 7:45am. Those vehicles with room, will stop for those waiting at the Roseville Park ‘n Ride adjacent to Golfland Sunsplash. Vehicles will leave Roseville at 8:15am. Or meet us at Donner Memorial Park at 9:45am.
