What kind of Spiritual Community are You?
If you like Oprah Winfrey, Michael Beckwith, Don Miquel Ruiz, Wayne Dyer, Eckhart Tolle, or the movie, The Secret, you’ll love CSA! We are a New Thought Community with Transcendental relatives such as Ralph Waldo Emerson, Margret Fuller, and Whitman. People of all religions attend and are welcome to become members or not. Our community which supports acceptance and respect for everyone regardless of gender identity, race, religion, or sexual orientation.
What are Some of the Beliefs of Your Church?
We have four core beliefs out of which all of our thoughts and teachings come from, they are:
1. We believe there is a Power for Good in the universe and we can use it to make our lives better. That Power is known by many names: God, Allah, Elohim, Sacred Grandmother Tree, Higher Power, Divine Intelligence and so many more. We believe this Power is all there is and that there is no external opposing power like a devil or evil. Devilishness and evil are beliefs and actions that come from thinking we are separate from God.
2. We believe all thought is creative and influential. Consequently, we take care of what’s in our mind, and endeavor to keep fresh before us the Spiritual Truth that God is all there is. We don’t blame ourselves or beat ourselves up for thoughts that don’t serve us; we simply replace them with thoughts that affirm our life.
3. We believe everything in our life is either an expression of love or a call for love no exceptions. Sometimes the calls for love can look very clumsy and even hurtful, but we maintain they are calls for love.
4. We believe you are whole, perfect, and complete just as you are. There may be some thoughts and/or behaviors you want to let go of, but you don’t need to add anything.
What does the Church Believe About Who God is?
God is not human and has no gender or limiting human emotions such as anger, wrath, vengefulness or jealousy. God never denies us or punishes us; rather as the Law of Cause and Effect dictates, whatever we believe, we create. We never view the consequences of our freedom of choice as punishment by God. We stop telling God how big our problems are and begin telling our problems how big our God is.
What do you teach children?
We teach them that they are spiritual beings living in a spiritual universe governed by spiritual laws having a human experience. Our teaching methods involve very little talking, lots of crafts and games to celebrate their spirit, and they always come away with an affirmation for the week. Our children have much less to unlearn about being the Presence themselves.
What is a Licensed Practitioner?
They are men and women in the church who have studied for at least 5 years and are prepared to do spiritual coaching and praying. They pray individually with congregants after church on Sundays and offer private, fee based, spiritual coaching sessions by appointment as well.
Does the Church require that you give a portion of your check to the Church?
No, giving to the church is optional and we embrace all that come to our church regardless of their contributions.
Are You Associated with Scientology?
No, there is no relation or connection to Scientology. We are associated with the Centers for Spiritual Living.
How do I become a Member of the Church?
There is no fee or big induction rituals. Just fill out the form in the membership application page.
